Criminal Attorney Grace Ayers joined Spiga & Associates in 2009. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 2005, where she majored in political science and French. In fact, Grace Ayers is fluent in French, and also speaks conversational Italian and Spanish. Grace Ayers is licensed to practice law in the State of California and in the Central (Federal) District of California.
Like Carlo Spiga, Ms. Grace Ayers graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law and after successfully passing the Bar, dove right into the practice of criminal defense. During her second year of law school, Grace took a class called Police Practices, which she considers a sort of turning point in her career path in the law. She walked out of there with not only the Cali Award for Excellence (for receiving the top grade in the class), but also a newly developed enthusiasm for criminal law.
In pursuit of more experience in the field, Grace became a law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Felony Trials Division, during her last year of law school. There, she was able to observe the different stages of court proceedings and learn the ins and outs of a criminal trial, from the perspective of the prosecution. Impassioned about the pursuit of criminal justice, however, Grace knew that she belonged on the side of the accused, the down-trodden, and those in need of help. She has worked as a zealous defense attorney at Spiga & Associates ever since. “When people ask me how I got into the field of criminal defense, and I tell them frankly, it’s the last thing I thought I would be doing after law school. But as it turns out, I couldn’t be more passionate about what I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world!”
Ms. Ayers practices primarily criminal defense, but also handles some family law matters such as divorce, child custody cases, and issues of child and spousal support. In addition, Grace Ayers owns a small business called Grace's Cases doing appearances for other attorneys throughout the greater Los Angeles area. She also remains active in the community of Pepperdine University School of Law by serving as a Judge for the school's nationwide moot court competitions.
