Prospective Chiropractors who have previous criminal convictions, arrests, or have been turned down by other licensing agencies, need the advice of counsel in submitting their applications to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Previous Convictions & Disclosure Requirements

Applicants for licensure must disclose any and all criminal convictions suffered in the past, and must disclose the underlying facts to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Effective January 14, 2011, new applicants, those seeking renewal, and Chiropractors licensed before 1997 are required to submit fingerprints to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners for criminal background checks. Failure to comply with the regulation can subject the licensee to discipline under subsection (c) of the statute.
